#16 Trains

(I am very surprised at my style here and a little bit terrified that so long ago I could so casually attempt to deceive my audience and certainly deceive myself as I talked about this violent nonsense!)

I've never been on a train, so I'll talk about the train mission on the Mission Impossible video game. You are running on top of a train chasing a guy All of his henchman are on the train shooting machine guns. If thats not enough, there are people driving cars and shooting bazokas at you. Helicopters also start shooting at you. All you have is a handgun. This is not a violent game. Back to the mission. It takes around 15 minutes but at the end a helicopter runs into you and you have to blow it up or you die. The mission is hard. Mission Impossible is a good movie but the train mission isn't very good. The train scene in the movie takes like an hour, but not really. I don't know much about trains

THOUGHTS

  • WTF
  • Yes, I really do switch into blue ink at that point
  • Yes, I am embarrassed by my errors in this entry
  • I can see why my parents hated video games. This is how my mind worked? I can see why my teacher didn't comment.
  • It's a good thing she didn't take my generous use of the second-person as a threat against anyone. I don't say things like "...or you die" anymore.
  • "This is not a violent game." Am I trying to be funny?
  • "I don't know much about trains" I think this line is my attempt at a good and literary conclusion...
  • ...but not really
  • And yes, I said "henchman."
  • And yes, as I read this I could only think of Half Life: Full Life Consequences

#15 Staying Up

Whenever I get to stay up it is only to work on school projects. Last Sunday, I was up until 11 (see 'Need Sleep'). The next day I could barely stay awake, so I try not to stay up too much. On New Years day, from midnight to 6AM they have a cool cartoon series that I like on Cartoon Network. I managed to stay up until two when I collapsed. At my cousins sleepover, I fell asleep at 12:30AM while him and all but one of his friends went through the night without sleep. If it's late and I'm online, I might go to bored.com. Most of the time, if I stay up late, its to finish a book. One day I started reading at 4pm, took a few hours for homework, and kept reading until midnight to read a 600+ pg book. I probably only stay up about 0.000001% of the time.

THOUGHTS

  • I certainly wish I only stayed up to work on school projects
  • I'm certain that the Adult Swim marathon was either DBZ or Cowboy Bebop. I still love both dearly (and have never completed either series. I know they defeat Buu, but I never saw the fusions or any of that fun stuff at the end of the series!)
  • Rereading this, I suddenly remembered Nick's sleepover. Funny how our brains work...
  • I don't remember much about bored.com but it's still around...
  • I do indeed still stay up late reading books, except in the eight or so years since I first wrote this, I've lost the ability to pause for homework in the middle.
  • I made sure to include all of the zeroes in my percentage. I wish I knew how long "the time" was. I did a quick google search for "how long have I been alive?" and, alive for 7961 days as of today, calculate that if I only stay up about 0.000001% of that time, I have slept for almost 688 seconds my whole life. I wish.
